The terms and conditions of entry to the book coasters Top 40 competition are:
Voting will be open from 9am on Tuesday 1 June and will close at 5pm on Saturday 31 July 2010.
The Top 10 Gold Coast Favourites will be announced on Friday 6 August and the list will be posted to the book coasters blog and will be available in branch libraries.
Gold Coast Libraries staff and families are not eligible to enter the competition.
To be eligible to enter the prize draw, entries must include the words, “I vote for..” in their reply to the Top 40 list and entrants must be Gold Coast residents.
Other votes received from respondents who are not residents of the Gold Coast will be included in the compilation of the Top 10 Gold Coast Favourites, however these will not be eligible for the prize draw.
Votes received for books not in the Top 40 will not be included in the compilation of the Top 10 Gold Coast Favourites, and will not be eligible for the prize draw.
Prizes consist of five $150 book packs of selected titles and are not transferable nor redeemable for cash.

Although I read the Lord of the Rings in final year at school, it has stayed with me throughout my life. I have not seen the movies. The other three books I have read in the past three years and I often think about them or discuss them with others.
