The Water’s Edge, by Karin Fossum, 2007
Post by Janette Orr.
This Norwegian police procedural bleeds freely and lyrically.
The reader is swiftly encompassed by the fragility and darkness
that permeates from the protagonists, and the victims.
Karin Fossum writes with a subtlety that is masterful, yet natural.
Her Inspector Sejer is a man of quiet consideration, who weaves
hope through the unbearable wake of the events he investigates.
In this novel, midway through the sequence Inspector Sejer works,
two young boys go missing. Even with such abominable crimes,
Fossum brings a delicacy and psychological insight which transcends
the horror with an intelligence which illuminates.
I heartily recommend this author.

I’ll be asking for this one to be put on hold for me, Janette. Great review.
