The Lizzie Bennet Diaries is a brilliant modern interpretation of “Pride and Prejudice”

A quick note, to commend to your attention an adaption of Australia’s favorite book, as a series of YouTube videos. The Lizzie Bennet Diaries is modernized, and set in the United States, but I found it charming. The group who produced it, Pemberley Digital, have also adapted Sanditon and are adapting Emma. Sanditon is an incomplete novel, and so version they created is a sort of massive online roleplaying game, which was an interesting experiment but is less interesting to watch after the action has finished.  The Emma adaption, Emma Approved, suffers from its source material. Emma is not terribly likeable at the start of the novel, and in weekly update format, this drags on for some months – better perhaps to binge on it once it is complete.
