Words Out winners – these young writers take the prize

words outThe winners of the City Libraries’ 2014 Words Out children’s creative writing competition have been announced, and the prize iPads were presented to Nathaniel and Sam by Mayor Tom Tate today.

Congratulations to these two young Gold Coast writers. Their entries impressed the judge’s with their evocative imagery and creative interpretations of the theme “a new world”.

Nathaniel won the 11 years and under age category with his prose poem, The Tree of the Seasons.

Sam won the 12 – 17 years age category with his short story, The Cedar Door.

Thanks to all the young writers who entered the competition – we hope you keep writing and keep an eye out for the 2015 Words Out competition.
