Block out a day for writing

Here’s your call out, Gold Coast writers – Writers’ block is on again!

We’ve blocked out the day – tomorrow – Saturday 9 May, for writers to work on their writing craft, learn more about the business of being a writer, and meet other local writers.

We’re kicking off at 9am at Robina Branch Library and Auditorium, 196 Robina Town Centre Drive.

We have three authors leading the day’s sessions:

David Burton: playwright, author and creative writing teacher will talk about turning your writing hobby into a career;

prominent fantasy author Isobelle Carmody will discuss how to bring reality into your fiction using settings, senses and dialogue; and

Martin Chatterton will look at how to create a long-term writing career, post-publication, which may call for some hat juggling.

Here’s the plan for the day:

Maybe you can’t be there for the whole day?
No worries – just attend for the time you can manage.
We’d love you to register, so we have an idea about numbers.

What could be better than an inspiring, informative day of writing talks and workshops.
That’s right – an inspiring, informative day of FREE writing talks and workshops.
It’s a City Libraries event so there is no charge! Are you feeling the love?

If you can’t make it to Writers’ block tomorrow, pencil Saturday 7 November 2015 into your diary now – that will be our next Writers’ block event.
And keep an eye on our Vimeo uploads – interviews with our Writers’ block authors will appear there soon.
