Creature Comforts by Trisha Ashley

Izzy Dane works for a women’s charity in India and is returning to England to get married.   She is engaged to Kieran and having spent very little time together discovers she has made a mistake.  Izzy breaks their engagement and returns to her childhood village of Halfhidden to live with her eccentric Aunt Debo and friend Judy. Here she helps to sort Aunt Debo’s financial crisis with ‘the desperate dogs sanctuary’ and ends up with taking a dog herself.  This alone creates fun and adventure.

Izzy also has to learn to come to terms with a fatal accident when she was a teenager so she can move on with her life.  The new owner of the estate, that borders the property where Izzy, her aunt and the dogs live moves in and Izzy begins to wonder if she can let love back into her life.

Follow Izzy and her supporting team of quirky characters from Halfhidden for a comforting, enjoyable and humorous read.

I have read and enjoyed all of Trisha Ashley books, and if you are looking for a warm-hearted read, this is the book for you.  I would very much like to be a character in her books and she makes me wish these villages really existed.
