Black Eyed Susans
I am halfway through Black Eyed Susans by Julia Heaberlin and it has me hooked.
The story follows the story of 17 year old Tessa (the black eyed Susan) who is a survivor left for dead by a serial killer. It was her testimony that put her attacker on death row.
As an adult the case has reopened and she is forced to revisit forgotten memories. Haunting and unusual events have been happening to her since the attack so she starts to question whether she put the right killer away. Someone is closing in on her and her teenage daughter and the suspense has me addicted.
I was a little wary of the change of timeline with every chapter but as the book progressed it was good to see the difference in time between the seventeen year old Tessie and the adult Tessa.
