Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham
A quick note to say: if you are a Gilmore Girls fan, and you’re a bit impatient for the new series, then you could do a lot worse than read Lauren Graham’s book. I took a while to read it, because it’s a first novel, it’s semi-autobiographical, and I knew I was going into it looking for Amy Sherman-Palladino’s writing , which isn’t fair to the text.
It delivers, though. It has a mix of quick repartee and rapid, fluttery introspection that will feel very familiar to fans of Graham’s character from Gilmore Girls. Graham dodges some of the obvious tropes. It has been optioned for television, so you could just wait, but it’s a light, fun book that’s easy to recommend to people who are fans of her work as an actress. The library has it in text and audio.
